Here is a great video documenting an Ad Age-hosted roundtable discussion with some heavy hitting CMOs. It starts off as a discussion on how Marketing Departments need to fight for and protect their budgets in times of economic stress, but then spins off to touch on some of my favorite topics, including the oft unrecognized reality of marketing plans that will be unrealized in the short term but beneficial in the long run, and that brands in the same category can boost each other by having separate and complementary identities that boost the category as a whole....
